I concur on the throttle being touchy from the factory :-) This (2022 SS 1LE) is a new car for me but not my first V8 car: I used to autocross a gen-4 Camaro some 10 years ago, and I have a Pontiac...

Slicks last longer on the track than street tires, they don't overheat. And also are more grippy, consistent, and fun. Just make sure to get the (harder) track compound, not the (softer) autocross...

In case if anyone else wonders, here is the answer I've got from a different shop: GM's instructions for track alignment require to drill out the holes. (Since it's factory instructions, it's fine...

My car has one of these badges, I think from the factory. "1" is reddish/pink and "LE" is black.

I went to an alignment shop, and they say that all they could get is -1.2 on on side and -1.3 on the other. They say they've disengaged the spline bolts, and also took out the bolts, had a look at...

Do you do much trail-braking into the turns? In my experience, this kind of wear, with most of wear on the outside but cording on extreme inside, tends to happen on the inside tire when braking hard...

I think your tires look fine. Not new, and with more wear on the outside (could use a little more negative camber?) but not corded yet. Not much tread to run in a serious rain but fine for a mild...

I've tried different tools over the years.

First I've tried a pressure tank bleeder, and it didn't work well at all. At best it leaves the brake fluid tank filled to the brim and a little more...

I haven't tried RE71RS myself yet, but compared to the previous RE71R and to V730, A052 were quicker on my previous car (RX-8).

Yoko A052 295/30R20 all around?

I've started looking at the street-class autocross tires for 1LE, and apparently the variety is not great, both in 19" and 20". 19" has more brands but they tend to be narrower for the fronts (275...

Do the knee pads help for autox?

I wonder if getting the knee pads is of any use for autocross? Do they help with staying in place and/or not getting bruises on the sides of the knees? Or are they purely cosmetic?
