Yea, its a street car. Handles fine, It's actually quite a bit better than I expected with no front sway bar and a really stiff rear sway bar. I haven't had any issues with it, don't regret it at all.

Yes the cog belt is what causes the whine. Heat absolutely can kill power, running a OD rear pulley isn't going to create enough heat to be detrimental though. Stock is 1:1 on the rear pulley.
