Great tip. Yes, I would like a clean look so will have to try this. If I had known about this beforehand I would have added a short length of shrink tubing a size smaller for this end.

No. The fit was tight. I'm sure it's fine as well, but I suppose if I wanted to be certain I could place some tissue near the tubing while I have someone rev the engine to see if there's any movement.
