In the process of changing the thermostat as we speak but what would explain this. This was in traffic and quickly went back down after moving

Coolant temp reached 250 degrees in traffic today

Coolant temp stays between 190-210 while moving, but quickly goes up when stopped. Fans don’t cut on until like 240 degrees. And my temp needle on the dash stays well below halfway even at up to 220...

"Clean side" PCV catching oil but the main PCV isnt with same catch can

Anyone care to explain? Exact same catch cans set up exactly the same way. "Clean side PCV" has oil while the other side dont.
