I never could get the cables to work. Instead I just relocated the OBD port under the dash with a few zip ties. You can't tell at all and it is still available to use if needed.

Have you tried ditching the adapter to relocate it? Mine didn't work with an obd extension but works awesome plugged into the obd port. Just move the port wire harness and zip tie under the dash.
