We have black stripes on our IOM 2SS, and I've been carefule to avoid using real wax. So far, I've used the Turtle wax Ice with no issues and applied Adams VRT to bring out the shine between waxings....

Your driver side chipping is identical to mine. I stopped mine from spreading by loosening the bolts and putting some 3M tape (only one side of adhesive) under the spoiler edge....
