Gas isn't going to change how it runs significantly. It's direct injection. It changes how much mid range power you'll have and that's it. On the plus side, it sounds like you don't have a real issue...

3 inch is too much for a naturally aspirated V6. Your best bet is to remove cats if you aren't subject to emissions testing.

Do you have the stock fuel pump or the ZL1 fuel pump for the tank? The HPFP (mechanical pump) should supply more than enough fuel N/A with E85.
