Muffler shop won't be able to weld that fitting on the pan. Its Aluminum and requires a TIG welder and unless its a high end shop they won't have one lol.

I would try to get a hold of an ECU wiring diagram and do some signal tracing between the knock sensor harness and ECU connectors. Chances are you have a break somewhere.
