I've gone through torrential downpours with no issues, you get some water droplets around the filter housing but they won't make it through the filter as it is coated with oil and hydrophobic.

If you're not using turbo clamps, you should. They are super cheap and you can torque them down to prevent movement between the TB and Vararam without having to worry about distorting the plastic.

Mine ends up getting to be a bit smaller than the key fob after heavy driving and I have had no issues, it still runs like a beast.

Ouch that sucks, definitely from being too tight. You should only tighten down the clamp enough so that you can't move it with your fingers - I learned the hard way as well. Hopefully that turbo...

That sucks, the 3.5" I have on mine barely grabs the first couple sets of threads on the nut. So I guess the 3.5" will barely work and is almost too small but the next size up is too big. :(

I'm that guy that changes the oil every 3k, even though I use Mobil 1. I know people will say it's a waste of money, but it can't hurt - my car is relatively low mileage. I will have had it 2 years...
