It's all about marketing. If they had of offered the ZL1 in 2009 I would still be driving my '2010 ZL1' @$60k instead of dropping close to $100k total on a 2010 SS and then a 2013 ZL1.

I can't see them not offering an ultra high performance streetable package, whether it be a ZL1 or an SS with an optional upgrade package that includes the LT4. It's either that, or add option...
