Heat under the hood

After driving for maybe 20 minutes, EVERYTHING under the hood is really hot. Is this normal? I mean I can feel the heat coming off the car from about 3 feet from the drivers side door.

I was never a big fan of whit cars until I saw the camaro. I think its the contrast between the white and black parts of the car. Tint the windows and choose any stripe color and its just awesome.
