I wouldn't put too much stock in those rumours. In fact, I'm pretty sure every 'rumour' that we see involving the Corvette is just a joke being played on us by the Corvette team.

Coupes don't save much weight over sedans. The loss of 2 doors is more or less offset by the extra strengthening of the door & door frame for side impacts. The CTS & CTS Coupe are within about 15 lbs...

Well, its RWD & has a 109" wheel base (same as the ATS), so my guess is that it is on the Alpha platform -which is the platform for the next gen Camaro.
