It's all done from the sat nav (GPS) the system knows where certain tracks are and it will take off the limiter as soon as you enter one... you set the other stuff up yourself!!

It's probably down to the beer tokens.... they did use Honda units in the 1st gen Exige and Rover K series engines in the Elise... personally i would've preferred them to still be using the Honda...

Can be down to the octane rating of the fuel... UK's Normal Unleaded is 95 Ron and Super is 97-99ron and if you have ultra deep pockets you can use 102ron but that's just mad £££££££ At about $22-$25...
