For any future DIY-ers, it's always best to press on the inner race when installing a center bearing. Yes, I know, we all have and USE hammers and on a light press fit it probably won't hurt but...I ruined a set of angular contact, Abec 7 ($800 in 1985) bearings (mis)using a hammer one time. The shock of a hammer blow vs a smooth press can cause the balls to score the race(s) Just sayin'...and Just warnin'...
