Have it on the tube and it is oiled. I have no idea how to contort the pump to get it started though. The only way is how I have it. The flange is flat though. Not sure why the picture makes it looked curved.

What you need to do is take the torx head bolts loose and take the guts out of the pump. Then get the pickup tube bolted in. Once you get it attached loosely tighten the 4 mounting bolts. Then put the guts back in, shim correctly to center, put cover back on with torx bolts, then tighten the mounting bolts and pull the shims out last.
