I have heard the auto really wakes up with a just tune as well!. But, then it isn't stock I guess, even though the parts are. Either way, I would sure agree your average driver would be faster (or at least more consistent) with the A6

And, while I prefer manual, I definitely wouldn't be calling someone "slow" just because of an auto, that's for sure! There's a reason the really really fast cars are almost all autos!
Yes all the Car and Driver, Road and Track, etc guys supposedly run the best times in the manual versions of tested cars as do the manufacturers with their said claims but these guys do those things for a living and spend all day with the cars if not a week or more...with the most ideal track conditions to add.
