Even with less power the auto-equipped SS is supposedly quicker than the manual SS. GM's automatics are generally very good.

I'm not saying there's no point to driving manual. It certainly has its advantages. But I think the intro to this poll is definitely biased and misleading. The performance of the auto SS is not exactly limited, and there shouldn't be much difficulty modifying the L99, given that any modification to a modern engine needs to consider the computer anyway.
