Who is the first poster in this thread to compare the SS directly to the GT500? Hmmmm, seems like you are whining about the wrong crowd......

A buddy of mine beat a '08 GT500 by 1/2 a car length until they got to about 100mph's and then the Stang crept back right as they got through the 1/4 mile mark at the track. I have added a CAI, LT Headers, and got a good tune and I can pull them by 2 car lengths now. The Mustang is truly an inferior car stock for stock. Sure pro driver's can get into the 11's with the GT500 but the truth is that you and me (the average guys) just can't do that. It has been a proven mid 12 second to high 12 second car even with 500hp. The Camaro has been a proven low to mid 13 sec car depending on conditions as well. I have seen this first hand racing them, the difference is not very much at all. I do not hate Mustangs by any means, I really like the GT500s alot and respect them. But to keep bashing the Camaro is crazy, it is 100% the best car of the group for now at least. A 5.0 400hp GT will still not have much of a chance if it even makes it out. I am a true racer, I have raced all kinds of drivers in all kinds of cars, you win some and you lose some, but the difference between a GT500 and a Camaro SS are not that far off at all. It's time to admit this.
