wow, sick setup.

I did a quick search and see alot of guys had the same issue at the water box doing burn outs, or just after a 1/4 mile pass. None of the threads had anything conclusive. p0503 is for VSS intermittent/erratic/high.

Were you brake boosting? Seems everyone whos had this code come up, had the front tires moving slower than the back tires.

I would just turn it off in the tune...
