Ive owned a remote start, they are nice in extreme climates (was in Alaska for 8 years, just leave the heater on and start the car 15mins before you leave) and the opposite extreme Arizona for the AC. Personally though its just not worth the extra money and I wont get one again, its nifty though to start it up with someone next to the car going "what the hell theres nobody in the car!!?!?!?". I can see it being an available option though, if it is not just do what people in Alaska do, have the dealer install it as an after market item.

PS- Nobody in the country will install one on a manual, there was a lot of litigation about it because several people were killed in Alaska due to and autostart/remote start on a manual in gear running people over. If your planning on a manual I would count out the remote start.
