I purchased the Camaro about a month ago from a private owner. The guy that sold it to me said the engine was replace 40,000 miles ago by a Chevrolet dealer. Knowing a Chevy sales rep locally, I asked him if he could pull any info from GM. So he did and nope, no record of the engine being replaced by a dealership. A lot of miles, too many, so I'll rebuild with performance parts as time goes on.
So, in the past month I:
1) Replaced the spark plugs with the recommended AC DELCO double platinum 41-990 to take care of OBDII DTC P0300 random misfire.
2) Added a generic oil catch can from Amazon for about $40.
3) I replaced the EVAP canister due to OBDII DTC P0449. Yep that one in the rear that is darn near impossible to get to. But I did it and I have a tip to possibly make it easier for anyone interested.
4) Replaced the passenger occupant sensor in the seat to get rid of the "Service Air Bag" message displayed in the DIC. Great video on youtube to assist. Did it over lunch.
Currently have "Service Tire Pressure Monitoring System". Need to figure that out.
Looking forward to warmer weather in a couple months.
