Gen 5's did not come with a spare tire, they also didn't come with a jack or lug wrench to change a tire. They came with a small air pump that plugs into your cigarette lighter socket and is supposed to be used to fill your tire to get you somewhere to get it fixed or call for a tow (if you didn't have a cell phone) .. a lot of good it will do you if you have a major blow out or a hole caused by anything other then a small nail. carrying a can of fix-a-flat (foam) in case of an emergency may help out, but again, only if it is a very small puncture or leak.
