As for aftermarket exhaust for my future Camaro, the thought of spending 500-700 dollars apalls me. I'd rather spend 100 bucks on the muffler from the cat back set and make my own. Cut out the old muffler/resonator and weld in the new one. I can't see the minute performance/sound gains being worth paying 5X more.
I have to admit I know there is are other things I would rather spend $500-$700 on. I'm going to hold out until we get a better idea on pipe size and if they add a resonator where there is one on the G8. If you look at the powertrain shots that have been released, there is what looks like a very nice X-pipe where the resonator is on a G8, so I'm encouraged. I'm hoping the V8 models will come with three-inch pipes so that I can just focus spending a few hundred bucks on some nice stainless mufflers. In the event they don't come with the three-inch pipes, I'll consider a catback. The tips don't look too bad to me now, and who knows how things will pan out with the ground effects kit and what not.
