One of the better reviews on oil filters. Avoid filters with cardboard parts like the cheap Frams. They can come off and ruin your engine. Other than that I'm not sure it makes a huge difference on the premium choices. Purolater Boss might be one of the best. I got some Wix XPs and Bosch's on sale this week on Amazon and looks like they are good enough.

XG series does not use cardboard. Have used the cheap "cardboard" Frams exclusively on many of my past vehicles. With 5k to 7k oil change intervals. V8s, V6s, straight 6s and inline 4s. 245k, 215k, 200k, 186k, 168k mile and so on with non-synthetic oil. Traded or junked the vehicles, none with motor or filter issues. Possibly got lucky?

Currently using a K&N for the Camaro, may switch to Amsoil. Check length before using a different filter.
