Don’t forget that automatics have about 800 more parts that can break and fail (not exactly but a LOT more to accomplish what the driver’s left leg and right arm does in a manual). That’s another reason I personally drive a manual......significantly reduced chance of difficult to diagnose failures. Both mechanical and now electronic failures with all the dct and computer involvement.
Manuals may also weigh less.
The fewer automatics and turbos in my garage the better.

What a crock. In 10 years I've never seen a auto trans failure here on
camaro5. I'm sure there's been a couple but I've seen dozens of std
trans and clutch component failures. dozens. Also, did you ever see
even one member say "I bought the standard because I couldn't
afford the $1,000.00+ for the auto". Same goes for the sunroof
option at nearly $1,000.00. Some just don't have the money to
drive in style but they will not admit it.
