What really got me was GM’s response:
“While we will not engage in speculation, we will remind you of our recently announced updates coming to the Camaro lineup this fall. An all-new LT1 model will provide customers V8 power with the design and affordability of our LT trim. The award-winning SS model will feature a new front fascia from the Camaro Shock concept. All of our updates are customer-driven to improve the car and its driving experience.”

But MSN was not the source of the 'Camaro is getting cancelled' story, Muscle Cars & Trucks is. See Bulletpoint #3
What was wrong with GM's response? Validating (that is, either confirming or denying) random rumours from blogs just invites more stories of dubious credibility. That would be the worst possible thing to do.
And they may as well use the opportunity to make mention of the newest changes to the lineup. Makes more sense than not mentioning the LT1 or styling tweaks. Lastly, for once the standard PR line about being 'customer driven' is pretty accurate -given how much complaining there has been about the refresh and the 6th gen's price.
