Does it have a grinding wheel or cutting wheel on it? Either will work, but the grinding wheel will take longer to mush through the steel. It willl probably make more heat too, for whatever that's worth. You can get cutting wheels on amazon for cheap.
Otherwise, I'd hacksaw them off before I cut them with a grinding wheel. YMMV
