I can imagine how much of a pain it could be to put a wet shine coat on the actual tire without A) touching the outer part of the wheel, or B) trying too hard to avoid the wheel and end up have a small gap of uncoated tire near the wheel's outer edge.

With the wheel cap, you can just cover up the wheel, spray the tire as fast as you want to appropriately coat the tire, and off to the next one. 10 second tire speed spray vs 3 mins of careful detailing and cleaning up the extras off the wheel.

If only I could find a place to buy one! Tried to see if there was an advertisement section on the SPEED website but no luck there :(
