This is essentially a "luxury" Nissan. VR30DTT motors can be picked up from $1500 - $4000. From what I've seen, replacement parts(factory or upgraded) fall in line with the Camaro or slightly cheaper. The main reasons I bought this car was the factory provided 400hp, brembos(albeit small brembos), price to mod, reliability and overall cost of ownership. Getting 22.5 avg mpg in the same stop and go traffic that I was squeezing 3-6mpg is a huge cost savings. Again, the op doesn't have a 7.0l V8 so my point is mute lol...

Nothing to do with the quote above but I would also agree that buying a new car when living check to check isn't wise but there are exceptions to the case. If the cost to repair and keep the car on the road cost more than a used car payment with warranty, then I would have to take a long hard look at the used car market.
