My beater Jeep could have held out until early '09, but the delay of the Z sealed the deal. I considered a HHR-SS, but ended up with a new Mazdaspeed3 in the interim. Decent car, but am I happy? No. Would I every buy a v6 RS for about the same money...uh no, that would be like having a berlinetta compared to an Iroc. Am I going to spend money on a SS only to trade it in on a Z28?...not the smart money either. I'm only doing this once.

I am thinking along similar lines with you. I've spent
way mor emoney on my '02 than I probably should have. Honestly, I didn't think I'd like a new Camaro when it eventually came out as much, so I never really thought I'd be thinking about selling it, so I justified the money I put into it that way. This time though, I am so happy with what we've been shown so far that I can confidently say that I think it is possible we've reached the zenith of Camaro. With gas prices where they are, and how much more oil is in demand world-wide, I really don't think a next generation is going to have the kind of power we will be getting. I'm all about speed and acceleration, personally, with handling in a close second. I'm getting to appreciate handling more and this car looks to fit all these great. However, I'd rather spend $10-$15K on the front end of a car with a blower, and that is engineered around that power, rather than add that money onto a car that's not really built for that. In addition, (I know I've posted this before) I have smog nazis where I live and anything I can do to stay on the down-low will be beneficial. I don't race on the street, but when I get pulled over, that's what the man thinks. I need to stick with a pulley, and simple intake and exhaust tuning for power since these are really the only safe places I can go to not get in trouble. An LSA, or similar variant, will fit that bill exactly. You can't tell me that that motor won't be able to put out ZR1 power for a couple grand and still be reliable.
I'm sorry for making this so long, but it's not about being lazy or anything, it's about a whole package, and staying out of trouble
