I didn't disconnect the battery. I knew on install that the blend door was basically vertical. So, I temporarily hooked up the BCM and the blend door actuator, loosely. I cycled through the temp dial and noticed the actuator turn to the down, or same position as the blend door, when it was on the heat setting. So that's the position I installed the actuator. I don't know if it makes a difference, but that's how I installed it and it works fine.
