If you don't want a 'street' tyre but looking for a bit more mileage out of a set of track tyres, look at Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

They are a track tyre really, certainly in look and construction, but they have a harder compound and higher treadwear than the Trofeos, R888s or Goodyear Supercars. I have a set on my OEM rims I've done approaching 5000miles on which are still ok for road.

They were good on track initially but have heat cycled out a bit now so I won't track on that set again.

(I also have a second set of track rims running a Dunlop Sport Max Race tyre - I don't think you can get that in the US, but it's very soft and sticky so probably not what you're after anyway)
