That was an awesome show!
And Dragon, now I KNOW what you meant about those stripes!!! That just looked killer! I was like, "holy....I've only seen that in photoshops!!! But THAT, looks even better!!!"
Great show...
Now....
I see the point about how one would think it could make GM look bad. BUT, the purpose was to show how GM looked bad....IN THE PAST. Everyone said fit and finish wasn't really in the budget and interiors were poor in the last 10 years. Well, GM figured this out and is doing everything in their power to change that perception. THAT is what they were attempting to do.
A guy hitting cones? To me, that shows someone pushing a vehicle BEYOND it's limits because they want to test a vehicle to it's maximum capability. That's EXACTLY what I expect Consumer Reports to do. I saw that as a driver beating on a car that was at it's breaking point....or flipping point. And, if you noticed, it didn't roll and it was moving pretty damn quickly. For someone who doesn't understand, it looks like they are driving a car that can't handle.
45 too much for a Volt? Projected prices. And, Dragon had some good points. How much does gas cost these days? How many thousands of dollars to people spend on average per year?....knock that off the price of the car per year for savings. Prius went down in price because they are recouping on their investment. The Volt hasn't seen the light of day yet....and like Bob said, "It works!" That's the most important part. This was the best idea GM could have ever had right here. Honestly, do you think the Hybrid (mainly electric) idea is going to stop right here???!!!??? It's going to carry over (the technology) into many other cars as well. GM WILL recoup it's billions put into the Volt and will make BILLIONS in return off the technology.
Dude...if you think waiting for Feb is going to be a long time to have to wait for the Camaro....... Some of us have been waiting since 2002! And, worse yet??? We HAD something to wait for since 2006!....
"He took a corner too wide........." It's called human error. It could happen in any vehicle with someone who...."take a corner too wide." If someone blames the car for that problem and not the driver.....duh......
I thought this entire show was about the good that is coming out of GM right now. I thought it showed that GM made errors in the past and made a HUGE turnaround in fit and finish....hell in all quality. You guys see that CTS-V?!?!
