I too, had my shifter installed at the B&M/Hurst office this past Saturday. Initially, I was very happy with appearance, much shortened shift-throw and positive feeling of gear engagement. Then was turned off by the excessive, constant and annoying shifter rattle noise in the lower gears when accelerating hard. I normally rest my hand on the shifter knob between gear shifts and I thought that should keep pressure on the shifter and help reduce the noise.
I read here an hour ago and the noise is less if you don't rest your hand on the knob so I went for a quick drive and am happy to report that the noise is greatly reduced when you keep your hand off it when accelerating hard. I LOVE the hurst shifter! It should have been the 1st mod I did on this car. It takes shifting to a new level.
