Owned Fords since 1979 except for one Tundra and a Tacoma. Except for the 2017 F150 that was bought back under the lemon law act they all treated me great.
Our 2019 Super Duty was just getting to difficult to get in and out of. Even more so after losing a portion of my shoulder mobility due to a motorcycle accident last year. The jump to the running boards was getting taller and taller and trying to pull myself up with my injured shoulder was becoming a serious issue. We only tow a 5,000 pound boat so really didnt need the towing or carrying capacity of the Ford.
Thought in todays market it might be a good time to trade. Researched both the Ram and the Denali. Loved the interior of the Ram but would have to order a truck and owners didnt speak to highly of the fuel economy. Found out a 2019 Denali was worth more than a 2020 Ram so that sealed it for the Denali.
2.5 years ago paid $54500 for the Ford and negotiated with a few dealers until one offered me $56K. Made the drive to Kentucky two days ago and picked up a new GMC Denali CC 4x4 with the 6.2 motor and 10 speed transmission. The automatic running boards really help get in and out and the truck rides like a luxury car. GMC dealer gave me $5K off the sticker price and DOC fees of 299. We did the entire deal online and when we drove up the dealer was great. No hidden surprises, no price changes, and they got us in and out pretty quick. So far so good. On the drive up to Glascow Kentucky averaged 14.5 in the Ford and on the way home 20.5 in the Denali. Coming from a Superduty am blown away how good the ride is. So far can’t detect any negatives with the 22 inch tires/wheels. Even better than the wife’s 2017 Expedition.
Stereo impressed me. Thought it would be similar to the ZL1 but it is better than any other I have owned except for maybe the Alpine system in my JL Wrangler. Seats are very comfortable. Going to take me awhile to figure out all the high tech. Visibility is excellent.
Its not a ZL1 but it does have the 6.2

. The front camera system is something the Z really needs.
