Are transmission problems common on these?
Heya Guys - I'm in the market for a low mileage Z28, and actually ordered one with 2K original miles from Carvana (don't judge me, single owner looked mint).
When the car arrived it kept grinding going into 1st when you were coming to a stop. I drove it around 15 mins to put some heat in it and it still kept grinding when you slowed down going to first (likely 1st gear synchronizers). I let them take it back and passed on it.
I noticed when I was carfaxing a few others across the US that I'm looking at there two others had their transmissions replaced @ 5k miles and one at 7k miles.
Is this a fluke or is it common to have transmission issues on these Z28s? I've had a few LSs and rebuilt a trans in my 03 Z06 (keepers got stuck) but I didn't think this tremec had any issues on these guys.
