GM probably doesn't care if your motor makes it to 200,000 miles, just past the warranty. I would run the best brand oil possible and for a close tolerance V8 5W20 would be my go to. If it had a lot of miles then 5W30.

My LFX gets the 0W16 for direct injection motors.
Yeah, GM used the wrong oil in these too.

Edit- 0W16 not 0W6.
