I don't think there are any out there "stronger" than the stock one. Most aftermarket hoods say not to use the strut. I have a heavy FB MPD Cowl Induction hood on my Camaro and after a while the original strut started to give some, so I replaced it with a brand new OEM strut and didn't have that issue anymore. Been about 6 years now..
