I see it is rivet together , I was wondering if over time it would loosen up, I do like the fact it is aluminum. I just worry about the paint peeling over time and having to redo it.
Maybe I will order mine though them and I am sure it weights less then the steel version.

I cut mine with a razor blade so it was just easier to cut all the way down. Ideally the plastic would wrap around the scoop. For me, it didn't seem necessary to plumb it perfectly. It is a pretty tight space and without a dremel tool, its kind of a pain to reach that far in there. It should still do the job as advertised, in my opinion. I made healthy dyno numbers considering my very simple mods, so I am happy either way

I should also note that it is a very gritty aluminum material. I would call it "raw". It's not smooth, so I imagine that paint would stick to it very well.
