Long time since I've updated.
The car has went through some minor changes.
Visually, all I've done is an Anvil spoiler, had it painted matte black. polished the car and ceramic coated it.
Performance wise, I had solo high flow cats on with factory manifolds. Then threw on Holley blackheart shorties. Then went back to factory manifolds. I went back because the car was under warranty, I went to Bradenton Motorsports Park and ran the car.....well it went slower. It needed to be tuned and those headers were clearly hurting the performance. My previous PB was a 12.8, I ended up running a 13.4. The weather was so much better, there's no reason I shouldn't have went faster.
Fast forward, warranty expired, went with JBA cat deletes. Ran those for a little and stumbled across a set of stainless works headers on the classifieds. Installed those along with a Rick Crawford "rod mod" intake, got a tune from Redline Motorsports. Went back to Bradenton in the middle of summer, 2000+DA end up running a 12.6.
Recently I got the mod bug and completed my phase 1 build which was just a simple cam and heads. But I went all out. Instead of porting oem heads, I bought FED M311s for the future TT build. Got a healthy cam, while waiting on the parts, i figured why not just get it setup on flex fuel, so got injectors as well. This is what it made, which was a 51whp increase. After 1500 miles of driving the car with its addition power, i launch the car and it blows right through the clutch. Feels like the car is spinning, I pedal it, didn't help, shift to 2nd, pegs the limiter. Clutch in..... got a good whiff of that burnt clutch smell. Drove home, the gears were super notchy and I had to fight to get it into reverse. Upgraded the clutch to a Mcleod RXT.
