Still it does make the Mustang a little more appealing to me than the bloated Cologne V6 Explorer motor did. Too bad it will probably cost more than a 4.6

I don't know what you're comparing it to, but from the context I will guess 4.0 V6. If so then it is an increase of 2 MPG
and 130hp (a 62% bump).
It is probably fairer to compare it's mileage to that of the expected 5.0 or at least the current 4.6 since it makes similar power and would probably be cross shopped against the GT.
