I've been pondering this myself and I came up with a theory albeit slightly painful. It's the name Z28. The low quality poor performing Zs of the late '70s and early '80s defined the name Z28. Unfortunately our cars are connected to that lineage. When a deep pocketed auction attendee hears that name that's what pops into his uniformed noggin. These are the individuals that run the prices up to ridiculously high amounts. Fine by me, keep those unappreciative types away from our special 5th Gen Z/28s!
