Well I was talking to a guy who owns one of the Gen I Z/28s. We had this discussion. The only difference between a Camaro and a Z/28 was you couldn't order certain options which kept the weight from climbing. But as he explained it, there was nothing special about a Z/28 that made it lighter than a base Camaro optioned identically.
So this "light weight" Camaro didn't really exist.
