I've always taken mine there and its been fine. They are very careful with it while performing the oil change. I pull it in and out of the service bay myself and they let me stay in the car or come underneath it to watch. No one else drives it.
My car still has an active GM extended warranty so if they F it up, they will be fixing it!
My car has had no issues yet either so its not needed any additional servicing.
