I won't let anyone else touch my Z/28 as long as I'm physically capable of doing the maintenance myself. Easy to change the oil, even easier to change the diff. I know there are exceptions (as mentioned above) and some very good techs out there but usually the "lube tech" at the dealership is the newest, least experienced employee. Recipe for disaster. Maybe if you know the tech personally it would be worth the risk. Maybe.
