I use a stainless turkey baster that has a silicone bulb, but I only use it for brake and clutch fluid.

I've never had that tool, but I have had pretty good luck with OEM tools for jobs I only do occasionally.

Edit: I picked up a 300ml syringe on AliExpress for $2. Works pretty good. Would not use it for gear oil.
