They were replaced by those exact same part numbers- but another difference is in the numbers that are indicated directly below the BWI numbers.
Original BWI 22282142 and 22282143 also had "14111141" underneath (possibly a date or a batch code)
Replacement BWI 22282142 has "18304121" underneath, and 22282143 has "19168091" underneath.
If you have higher numbers than "14xxxxxx" or "15xxxxxx" on yours, it is a good bet that you have the updated shocks.
Also, you can see in the first picture that the newer strut set is taller than the original strut set.

Thanks for this very thorough explanation. I missed your answer prior to my rant about parts because I am very old and did not scroll down the page. I could not have answered the BWI number question because I never saw the front struts prior to them being installed and the car and reciept is in a mini warehouse 10 miles away (I can't get under the car to look for a number). Only item of relevance is possibly the rear numbers that the OP may need. I have a newer set in hand that I purchased from Summitt. They are BWI 20942614 with the underneath # of 22326131. Exterior of box says "Made in Mexico" It's GM #19300041 and AC Delco # 580-445 for right and left rears. Thanks again V Chula.
