I'm certain that the General won't directly replace the Camaro with a vehicle named Panther. Camaro is a storied name, recognized around the world. It would cost tens, if not hundreds, of millions in marketing for a Panther name to reach even a shadow of that recognition. If there's a Camaro replacement, it'll be named Camaro.
Having said that, it would not surprise me if GM were to produce a vehicle similar to what a Camaro replacement would've been (muscular body, electric, four-door) and name it Panther. This way, if it's successful, they could safely offer a two-door version, as the new Camaro (I'm looking at you 2024 Dodge Charger).
