Starting back in December, I had some CELs and diagnosed a failed injector. Could only find 1 single injector (true OEM) in stock so I replaced that one, and then shortly after I had another fail. Fortunately, RockAuto had them in stock finally, so I was able to replace all 8.
Then last month, I developed a ticking noise on the way home, and basically parked the car. Diagnosed it as a failed lifter on #3 intake (after hoping it was rockers).
Took it to shop to do the lifter/cam job, and they found a cracked sleeve. So I guess I'm cooked now - Don't have the budget for new engine/short block so I just had the shop go ahead and finish the original job.
How much driving can I do on this? How long has it been like this?
I have 110 miles on the car and have kept up with maintenance religiously. Not losing coolant, not getting any other symptoms/codes from cylinder #7, which has the cracked sleeve. I wasn't even seeing any loss of power until the lifter tick started.
Resleeve and rebuild? Couple local machine shops were like 6 months to a year minimum for the work, and they don't really even want to sleeve the aluminum block.
