Invest in better brake rotors, pads; and keep good tires and brake fluid. That’s the same thing I thought about, when I was originally planning to convert to bigger brakes in the front, on my SS (using 2nd gen Cadillac CTS-V front brake parts).
I figured in my case, I was cheaping out on the calipers, rotors, pads, and even tires, sadly…. If anything, the only decent thing that I had, was maybe some nice DOT 4 and 5.1 brake fluid. I was broke and thought that a bigger brake setup would make such a “better” difference.
I know that’s not exactly what you’re doing, but it’s similar to it in regards to particular aspects (like running a larger brake rotor size). Were you planning on drag racing or tracking the car? I think the factory, OEM solid brake rotors and some nice aftermarket semi-metallic brake pads would do you some good.
Heck, you can probably maybe even install some stainless steel braided brake hoses, to get a better brake pedal feel, and less swelling of the brake hoses when they get overly hot. It’s not necessary, but if you drive your car hard more often, I’d say it’s worth it.
